SUNK resurfaces... For the next instalment we have someone we’ve been wanting to have play for us since we started talking about doing parties: Darand Land
A true househead from the 80s, Darand Land came to attention around the turn of the millennium, releasing some of the most emotive - and now highly sought after - house music out there on Chris Gray's seminal d4l label.
At the time it seemed that that may’ve been that. Then three years ago, Darand returned to the studio, resuming the creative arc of his early work with releases on Downbeat, Freebeat, Pulp, Confluence, and his own new imprint, Urban Imagery. This year looks set to continue that rich vein of productivity, with lots of new material in the pipeline, plus whispers of a reissue of the mega-rare Sound Principle test pressings.
This second wave of production has prompted requests from around the world to showcase his spinning abilities, with sets closely matching the style, quality, emotion and depth of his productions. So on the back of bookings in North America and South Africa, we’re delighted to have Darand play an exclusive UK gig for us as part of a European mini-tour (which also takes in Paris and Madrid). London will be the first time Darand has played anywhere in Europe and represents a rare and unique opportunity to hear the man convey his message.
We've got an intimate, private venue, in a central London location. All we need is you – come and get lost with us…
